Commer/Business/Industr - APALACHICOLA, FL
The Witherspoon House was built by James Witherspoon in 1859 as part of a family compound. He owned sailing ships to send lumber to Key West. In 1989 the building was restored by Gulf State Bank. They hired a hotel designer from FSU to turn it into a 4BR/4BA Inn. In 1996 94 5th St. was purchased from the bank by a retired Art Professor, Ken Kenniston and his wife Sandra. Together with 92 5TH St. it was run as a 5 star bed and breakfast for over 16 years. Ken passed in 2010 and in 2014 Sandra moved into 94 5TH St. Since the fall of 2017 the building has undergone extensive renovations including roof, flooring, paint and landscaping. A dining room, kitchen, laundry and storage are new additions. The property zoning is unique and would make the perfect retreat for a university destination. Wedding could also be a viable attraction. The upstairs is like a townhome with a balcony sheltered by a 300 year old oak....its a paradise! Great start up business or can purchase and use as personal residence. ALL DIMENSIONS ARE APPROXIMATE.
