Remote North Island Acreage
This 20.77 acre inland acreage is located approx. 1.28 kilometres south of Benson Lake on North Vancouver Island. Access is by way of forest service road Lake Main. The property has a gentle to moderate sloped topography, rising from the NE corner up approximately 130 metres to the SW corner. The steepest portion is as you approach the SW portion of the property. The acreage is mostly forested in immature second growth; however some portions are cleared and exposed to gravel and aggregate. Historically the property was part of the Machete Mine mining claim. As a result there are some excavations and concrete structures on the property. The location is very close to Benson River and is within a network of forest service roads that provide access to numerous lakes and rivers within this region and throughout the north island. The area is a popular recreation area for freshwater fishing, hunting and hiking. The lakes and rivers are well known for a good variety of trout species. The closest service centre and access to paved road is Port Alice, which is approx. 24km to the west. Port Alice also provides access to Neroutsos Inlet and the ocean waters of the west coast of Vancouver Island.
