In 1977, the Toms-Buchanan Cottage was entered on The National Register of Historic Places. The home and guest cottage, with 9 bedrooms and 5.5 baths, are in excellent condition. The guest cottage, a one-bedroom, two-bath efficiency apartment complete with washer and dryer, was recently added and sits over a two-car garage.
