Duck Creek Ranch - Niobrara County, WY The Duck Creek Ranch is located 16 miles east of Lusk, Wyoming and consists of 5,170 deeded acres and 2,435± State of Wyoming lease acres for a total of 7,605± acres. The ranch is divided by US Highway 20 into a North Unit consisting of 3,391 deeded acres and 1,474.66 acres State of Wyoming lease and a South Unit consisting of 1,779 deeded acres and 960 State of Wyoming lease acres. There are a total of approximately 1,355 irrigated acres. This extremely productive and well-balanced ranch is irrigated by nine low pressure pivots. In 2007, four of the pivots were planted in corn, which is grown for silage for the feedlots. The remaining pivot was planted into alfalfa, and yielded three cuttings averaging a total of five ton of hay per acre. Four additional wells provide stock water to tanks strategically located throughout the ranch. This ranch features an excellent set of improvements with two houses, several outbuildings, exceptional cattle working facilities, and two large feedlots constructed of continuous fence. The feedlots are capable of holding approximately 3,000 head of cattle. The ranch is rated as a 600 cow/calf operation year-round.
