This water lot lease is 1.62 hectares and is located along the north-west shoreline of Teakerne Arm on West Redonda Island, in the Discovery Islands. Offered for sale are the lease, license with current management plan, and equipment. This is a deep water lease with beach area, in what is considered to be a very prolific shellfish grow site. The lease has been renewed with 26 years remaining. The management plan is approved for up to 52 rafts, currently there are 17 rafts in place. Some of the rafts could use some maintenance or be replaced, however most of them have reasonable life expectancy remaining. Additional equipment includes one harvest deep net raft, work shed on a 30x60ft float, hydraulic harvester on a 26x40ft float, a total of 7200 baskets of which 5500 are currently secured on rafts on site, approximately 6300 pearl nets and 94 lines of lantern nets on the beach. There is a modest complement of beach oysters currently available for harvest. Raft oysters will be harvestable in the fall of 2017. This is a great offering for a licensed, active shellfish culture operation with 14 licensed species. The Discovery Islands are well known for their waterfalls, secret coves, rock cliffs and tranquil natural beauty with plenty of opportunity for wildlife viewing, including bald eagles and bears. For the outdoor enthusiast the recreation possibilities here are endless and of an unrivalled quality; it is truly one of the best jumping off points for a variety of outdoor activities including fishing, prawning, kayaking and hiking. This area enjoys a nice temperate climate and the waters are warmer than in most other areas on the coast.
